Position Summary

The Department of Accounting and Information Systems in the College of Business at New Mexico State University (NMSU) is seeking to fill a 9-month, tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant Professor level in Information Systems. The position start date will be in August 2018, with an initial course load of 6 credit hours per semester. The candidate should be able to teach both undergraduate and graduate level courses in the areas of business analytics or related topics, including, but not limited to, descriptive modeling, prescriptive modeling, and visualization. A combination of online and face-to-face course delivery will be expected. The successful candidate will have responsibilities in publishing, teaching, advising students, and service to the department, college, university, and community. The position requires continued scholarly activity, including research publications in refereed academic journals. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to an educational environment that supports learning for individuals from diverse backgrounds.

Required Qualifications

Candidates at the Assistant Professor level are required to hold a Ph.D. in Business Analytics (BA), Management Information Systems (MIS) or a related area from an AACSB business accredited or ABET accredited program, or be ABD at the time of application, with expected degree completion by August 2018. Candidates should demonstrate evidence of effective teaching and evidence of or the potential for scholarly activity, including publications in refereed journals relevant to Business Analytics, Enterprise Systems, Database Systems, or related areas.

Preferred Qualifications (optional)

Industry experience in information systems is desirable. A Ph.D. from an AACSB accredited business school is preferred.
