Position Summary

Successful candidate will:
- Provide leadership and guidance to the Ideas for Cooking and Nutrition (ICAN) program in Bernalillo County which includes both the Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program (EFNEP) and Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) Education.
- Provide supervision, management and training of para – professional nutrition educators for the ICAN program in Bernalillo County. Management duties include oversight of the ICAN budget and supervision of the ICAN administrative assistant for the county.
- Act as liaison for the ICAN program and coordinate with outside agencies, schools and other groups to facilitate implementation of the program county wide
- Collaborate with other Extension Agents, with State Extension Specialists, the Northern District Director and other administrators as well as outside agencies and organizations in planning and implementation of the total Extension program.
- Maintain a favorable public image and gain acceptance for self, Extension and New Mexico State University among county citizens.
- Administratively responsible to the County Program Director and through him/her to the Northern District Director.
- Provide timely reports as required.

Required Qualifications

Master’s degree required. At least one degree must be in Home Economics, Family and Consumer Science, Nutrition, Health Education, Family and Child Development, Extension Education or a health related field.

Special Requirements of the Position

-Position for Bernalillo County, located in Albuquerque, NM.
Must be willing to work odd hours as needed. Must live in county where emloyed.
-A valid driver’s license is required.
-Insured personal auto required, reimbursed at IRS rate per mile.
